Successful Architect Arfaei Delivered a Seminar in EMU Architecture Department

Regional branch of the International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism, INTBAU Cyprus, and Eastern Mediterranean University Architecture Faculty hosted a seminar entitled “New Idea for the Construction of Historical Elements, Case Study: Mihrab of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque” by famous Iranian architect Shahabeddin Arfaei.

Arfaei holds a postgraduate degree from Tehran University Fine Arts Department and is currently a faculty member at Islamic Azad University. Arfaei is also the representative of ICOMOS in Iran and the chair of  “Bam-Citadel of Kerman Consulting Engineers”.

During the seminar, Arfaei presented his views on the restoration process of historical sites and provided examples from Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.

During the seminar which attracted a crowded group of students and academic staff, Arfaei provided information on traditional Iranian architecture, his team and method of operation and added that without in-depth historical knowledge and research, it is not possible to carry out such projects.

Following the closing address of the chair of EMU Architecture Department and INTBAU Cyprus Prof. Dr. Özgür Dinçyürek, Arfaei was presented a certificate of appreciation for his contributions to the event.
